Mama Wynja ritual

My yes, my no

A ritual for feeling where your boundary is, giving it words and deciding how you will take care of it yourself.

What you need

Paper and pen are enough. The ritual is not about making someone else change, but about becoming clearer about what you choose.

A concrete situationChoose a relationship, request or recurring situation where something rubs the wrong way.
A moment without an audienceFormulate the boundary for yourself before you need to say it to someone else.
A possible next stepA boundary becomes clearer when you know what you will do if it is not respected.
If the situation includes threats, violence, strong control or risk that a no makes you less safe: prioritize safety and support over confronting the person directly. This ritual is not a safety tool for dangerous relationships.
The ritual

Feel it → Set the boundary → Anchor it

1. Feel it

1

Write the situation without explaining it away. What happens concretely? What are you asked to do, accept or carry?

2

Notice your reaction. Irritation, tiredness, resistance, worry or an urge to flee does not automatically mean “no” – but it is worth exploring.

3

Divide the paper in two: “This is mine” and “This is not mine”. Place responsibilities, feelings and tasks where they actually belong.

The journal fits here: not to find a magical answer, but to make the situation visible and separate your responsibility from someone else’s.

2. Set the boundary

4

Write your yes. What are you actually willing to do, give or participate in?

5

Write your no. What can you no longer do, carry or accept?

6

Turn the boundary into one simple sentence. For example: “I can help for one hour, but not the whole day.” Or: “If the conversation becomes personal attacks, I end it and we can talk later.”

7

Practice the sentence out loud. Say it more slowly and with fewer explanations than you first want to give.

If you want to mark the moment symbolically: a black intention candle is sold with the meaning “Protection”. Here it can represent your clarity and your decision – not invisible protection that replaces action.

3. Anchor it

8

Decide your own action. What will you do if the boundary is not respected? Leave, turn off notifications, say no again, reschedule or ask for support?

9

Decide when you communicate. Send the message, book the conversation or put it in your calendar. If you need time, the boundary can be: “I will get back to you tomorrow.”

10

End in your own words. Say out loud: “My yes may be a yes. My no may be a no. I am responsible for what is mine.”

Intention
“I do not need to close my heart in order to have a boundary. I may choose what I say yes to – and what I say no to.”
Make it yours

Objects that can support the ritual

Everything is optional. The real boundary is in the words and the action. Objects can only help mark or remember what you have decided.
